In the previous post, we've looked at the profile of a cloth diapering parent in the Philippines. Now, it's their cloth diaper stash in the spotlight.
The Survey Questions
The first question isn't really about the stash. But we just wanted to see if there's a rising trend over the past few years.
As for the brands, I wrote down all those that I am familiar with. Alas, I still managed to miss some brands. I've placed an option for people to write down other brands. However, respondents can only add one.
I wish Google Drive will have the option to layout the check boxes in multiple columns. That would be helpful.

The Survey Results
The First Purchase
My very first cloth diaper purchase was a set of Next9 diapers. Back in 2010, it was still called Tushy Wushy- and they were sized. It was a gift for my inaanak- Mommy Issa's eldest princess. Fast forward to 2012, when it was time to buy a set for my own son, Next9 was naturally, my first option. I was so glad that by then they have OSFM (one size fits most) diapers- it's very economical.
But I digress. Back to the results...
Survey says, most of the respondents are new to cloth diapering. Does this mean that more and more people are ditching disposable diapers? Perhaps. But we're just happy to know that some parents decided to give up convenience to help lessen consumer waste. What a relief for mother earth!
The Brands Tried And Tested
Based on the results, Alva is the most common brand in their stash. One might conclude that this means Alva is the preferred brand. Maybe. But then again, the question asked was to identify the brands that they've tried.
Snaps vs. Velcros
Personally, I love velcros. With a very active baby, it's quite difficult to use snaps. My husband had a hard time using it, too. So, I've decided to try Baby Wizard. Baby Wizard's velcro looked promising, but I soon discovered other brands like Grovia and Cluebebe. I never looked back ever since. Now, 80% of my son's cloth diapers are velcros.

The Types of Cloth Diapers in Your Stash
Now, this is also very interesting. As I was keeping track of the progress of the survey, I wondered why most parents prefer pockets (spoiler!). "Are we missing something?", I asked Mommy Issa right away.
You see, Mommy Issa and I are partial to using covers. No, scratch that. We LOVE covers. We find it more practical, since you can still reuse the cover up to three times. This means, you just have to invest on extra inserts. And it dries faster too.
Why pockets? More on this in the next episode of Survey Says...
