Survey Results Snapshot: The Basic Profile of A Cloth Diapering Parent

We had initially planned to close our online survey last July 18. However, we got a bit greedy with data so we decided to proceed with the raffle draw and keep the survey open.

As of today, we have a grand total of 45 respondents. Mommy Issa and I believe that this is just a small percentage of the total number of cloth diapering parents here in the Philippines (based on the total members of MCNP Facebook group). We’re planning to have another raffle draw to get more people to answer the survey. Yay!

And if you’re one of them who haven’t heard of our survey until now, can you please share with us your thoughts? Pretty please...

And because I’m a little low on EQ, I’ll share with you a snapshot of the survey results summary through a series of posts. -_-

The Survey Questions

We wanted to know the basic profile of parents who made the switch (and when we say cloth diaper, we actually mean modern cloth diaper):
  • Their age range
  • Their location
It was only after I published the form when I realized I made a mistake: I did not ask for the gender of the respondent. Most likely, I thought that only moms will take the survey. But really, a survey shouldn't be biased. Baaaaad Jinky.

Anyway, here’s a snapshot of our survey form’s Basic Info page:

The Results

The Location

Before the survey, we guessed that most cloth diapering parents are located in Metro Manila. On what basis? Well, just the gut feeling that people in Metro Manila have more buying power. Let's have a look at the results:

We wanted to dig deeper, so we made a more detailed graph. Quezon City had the biggest chunk of the pie. Of course, we're hoping that we can get more parents to answer the survey so that we could get  a more realistic view.

The Age

The statistics from our Facebook page gave us an idea as to how this will turn out. According to Facebook insights, most of our "fans" belong to the 25-35 age bracket. The most engaged persons also belong to the same group.

Survey results seem to concur with it:

Conclusion

That's the profile of those who took our survey. In the future, we'd like to know more about you, dear cloth diapering moms and dads. In particular:
  • Gender
  • How many are first time parents?
  • Combined household income range
If you think there are things that should be covered, feel free to comment. Ideas are very much appreciated. :)
