The last post was all about the lessons we learned last year. Today's post is all about our one of our dream projects for 2014. I'm sharing this because at some point, we will be asking for your help to achieve this. We sometimes like to think we're all knowing (hubby's cue to raise eyebrows), but really, this is a project that we'd like to work on with other moms.
The Common Problem For Newbies
For the past months, Mommy Issa have been answering queries from moms who are interested to know more about modern cloth diapers. So similar are the questions, that we already have a template prepared. Sometimes, we feel that we're able to help. But most of the time, we feel that we've given a little too much information in one go. It can be overwhelming for first timers.
From experience, I know that it can be intimidating at first. Google was my go to option when I was researching about modern cloth diapers. Unfortunately, it's a bit difficult to sift through information.
I also lurked a local Facebook group for reviews to search for recommended brands. But I ended up getting confused, because each has their own favorites. In the same group, I've seen comments of other moms who are having difficulty absorbing the concepts. Some don't even know where to start.
For us who are trying to promote (and sell!) the idea of reusable diapers, it can be a problem.
The challenge here is to come up with way to present the information that is easy to digest.
The Proposed Solution
The guide for starters should be a priority. Topics might include the following:
- Definition of terms
- Types of cloth diapers, their advantages and disadvantages
- Where to buy (local and imported brands)
- Common misconceptions (a.k.a. Nakakasakang ba ang cloth diapers?)
These are all tentative, since we also need inputs from others. By mid-March, we will be putting up a survey to solicit ideas from you. We sincerely hope a lot of experienced moms will participate.
We will keep you posted mommies. We hope to accomplish this within the year!
